This selection of Japanese honeysuckle has dark green, satiny leaves strongly tinged with purple up to 3 inches long and a continuous sprinkling of white flowers with purplish backing on the petals. It does have the same rambling habit and tendency to overwhelm nearby shrubs as the more familiar Hall's honeysuckle. But it excels in covering ugly fences and other structures with a lush blanket of foliage and filling the air with sweet perfume. Evergreen except in severe climates. Sun or light shade, most soils, and moderate to occasional watering. Hardy to 0 degrees F or less.
